A Saucy Meal Queen’s Guide to Festival of the Holidays, Epcot.

Darlings, if there’s one thing we Saucy Royals love, it’s eating and drinking around the world—and where better to do that than at Festival of the Holidays, Epcot? With stunning decorations, delicious bites, and lively entertainment, it’s a feast for all the senses. Of course, no royal outing is without a few hiccups, but overall, it was a festive day to remember. Here’s how the Saucy King, Queen, and our merry entourage fared in the magical lands of Epcot.

Decorations and Atmosphere: A Festive Wonderland

From twinkling lights to culturally inspired holiday decor, Epcot truly brought the magic. Each country pavilion sparkled with its own unique flair, and the festive cheer was infectious. Whether strolling past gingerbread displays or snapping photos in front of dazzling Christmas trees, the atmosphere was nothing short of enchanting. My favorite, a festive tea pot in England. Well I am royalty, darlings!

Eating and Drinking Around the World

We came hungry, thirsty, and ready to explore, and Epcot delivered—mostly! Let’s break it down:

  • Food: Prices ranged from $6-$11, making it fairly reasonable for Disney standards. Our favorites included the fish and chips at the Rose and Crown Pub in England (so good I forgot to snap a photo!) and the hearty holiday offerings in America, basically a mini Christmas dinner (yummy). China was also a highlight, though the fried rice left something to be desired—it was more brick than bite, unfortunately.
  • Drinks: Oh, the drinks! The Pimm’s and Lemonade from England’s Rose and Crown was a standout. Light, refreshing, and quintessentially British, it’s a drink I could sip on all day. Meanwhile, the King crowned the Kronenberg lager from France as his favorite brew of the day. Both were perfect companions for our stroll through the World Showcase.

Entertainment: Dancing in England and Artistic Wonders in America

Entertainment is where Epcot truly shines. Behind the shops in England, a live band had everyone dancing and clapping along. It was an unexpected and joyous addition to the day, bringing families together for some impromptu fun.

Over in America, we loved browsing the art shop. From intricate Disney sketches to stunning landscapes, it was a calming break in the middle of the hustle and bustle—though it did test my willpower not to buy half the store! You know how much the queen loves her art!

Pit Stops on Two Magical Rides

We couldn’t resist squeezing in a couple of our favorite rides during the day.

  • Soarin’ Around the World: This classic attraction takes you on a breathtaking journey over some of the world’s most iconic landmarks. With wind in your hair and the scent of orange groves wafting through the air, it’s an immersive experience that never gets old.
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure: Located in the France pavilion, this ride shrinks you down to the size of a rat and takes you through the bustling kitchens of Gusteau’s. It’s a delightful mix of 3D visuals and trackless technology, perfect for family fun. Even the King couldn’t resist laughing as we dodged frying pans and scurried under tables!

The Price of a Royal Day Out

While the food was reasonably priced, the drinks were another story. At $15 for a cocktail, I expected something a bit more substantial. For those planning a visit, a sit-down meal might actually save you some money in the long run. That said, Epcot is all about the experience, and sipping on a Pimm’s while wandering through festive decorations is hard to beat.

Saucy Verdict

The Festival of the Holidays, Epcot is a magical way to celebrate the season, but it’s not without its quirks.

Pros:

  • Stunning decorations and immersive holiday atmosphere.
  • Delicious food options, with England, America, and China (minus the fried rice) stealing the show.
  • Fantastic live entertainment, like the band in England that got everyone dancing.

Cons:

  • Drinks were overpriced and undersized.
  • A couple of food misses (again, looking at you, fried rice).

Overall, we’re giving this experience a Saucy 8/10. With perfectly cooked rice and full-size cocktails, it could easily have been a 10. Despite the hiccups, it’s a must-do for anyone looking to add some holiday magic to their season. Just plan ahead, bring your appetite, and prepare to be dazzled.

Until next time, stay saucy and keep exploring the magic! 🎄✨🍴
